  1. What do your little codes mean? I figured out the (f) and (nf), but am curious about the asterisks and the frowny face.

      I didn’t know anyone ever came by here! I did it mainly for myself so I could see what I’d been reading over the months.

      By the way, you probably already figured it out, but BC are book club selections.

      I’m not very consistent with the asterisks because, and this is going to sound so weird, but I hate to say I don’t like a book and I have trouble picking favorites. But those are the ones that I really liked or that are part of the shelf of books in my life that have really impacted me in some way.

      The frowny face? Again, as much as I don’t like to say that I really didn’t like a book, that particular book evoked a visceral response in me. And not in a “You’ve presented a different point of view from mine, but at least it’s given me food for thought” way. I just had some major issues with that particular book.
